PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of brushes of a speed-switchable motor. SOLUTION: The first brush 31, the second brush 32, the third brush 33 and the fourth brush 34 which can freely approach and separate from a commutator 20 are arranged around the commutator 20 at intervals of 90°. At a switch 40, there are arranged a first connecting part 41 which applies electricity to the first brush 31, a second connecting part 42 which applies electricity to the second brush 32, a third connecting part 43 which applies electricity to the third brush 33, and a fourth connecting part 44 which applies electricity to the fourth brush 34. At the third brush 33, there is arranged a shape-memory alloy 52 which separates the third brush 33 from the commutator 20 when the first brush 31, the second brush 32 and the fourth brush 34 are electrified. At the first and fourth brushes 31, 34, there are arranged shape-memory alloys 51 and 53 which separate the first brush 31 and the fourth brush 34 from the commutator 20 when the third brush 33 and the second brush 32 are electrified by the switch 40.
