A lemon &c. is prepared for consumption from the hand by removing the central pith spindle, e.g. by a cork borer, filling up the hole with a flavouring, e.g. sugar, or a concentrated sugar solution, and mixing the flesh by a knife and plugging up the opening made in the rind, e.g. with a cork or other stopper. |
