PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for sensing a plurality of voltage values from a single terminal of a power converter controller.

SOLUTION: This example controller for a power converter includes a switching control device for switching a power switch to regulate an output of the power converter. The controller includes a sensor coupled to receive a signal from the single terminal of the control device. The signal from the single terminal of the controller represents a line input voltage of the power converter during at least a portion of an on-time of the power switch. The signal from the single terminal also represents an output voltage of the power converter during at least a portion of an off-time of the power switch. The switching control device responds to the sensor.
