PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a redundant area (unused area) corresponding to the difference between a file storage amount and a file size, which is caused when the file storage amount is below the file size, when the file storage amount varies by generation. SOLUTION: The device comprises a redundancy calculation means which determines a redundancy of each log file by the quantity of logs stored in each log file, and a generation number control means which increases the generation number of log files when the current redundancy is larger than the previous redundancy.
