<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop electrification quickly and to prevent developer from blowing out, when an image forming apparatus becomes abnormal. <P>SOLUTION: A copying machine stops charging bias (charging of a photoreceptor 1) by a charging device 2 and developing bias (charging of developer) by a developing device 4 stepwise, according to a present bias state (electrification state), respectively when abnormality occurs in the copying machine itself. Here, the occurring abnormality is detected, a stopping method is selected according to the result, and the copying machine is stopped based on the selected stopping method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
