PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control circuit of a photomultiplier capable of performing detection, while determining reliability. SOLUTION: In this control circuit, a comparator COMP outputs an excessive incidence determination signal Vout to the outside of a module based on a reference potential VR generated in a high voltage generation circuit 20. It is revealed that data output from an anode terminal has no reliability when the excessive incidence determination signal Vout whose level is switched from a low level to a high level is output to the outside, and that the data has reliability before being switched.
