<p>An exercise device that includes a housing, a biasing member disposed in the housing, and an assembly that includes first and second members operatively connected to the biasing member. The movement of the first and second members in substantially the same direction applies a force to the biasing member. Application of a first force by the assembly to the biasing member biases the biasing member to a first level and application of a second force by the assembly to the biasing member biases the biasing member to a second level. And, while maintaining the force at either the first or the second level the first and second members can be moved with respect to one another.</p>
