<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laryngoscope including a control circuit detachably connectable to a handle, where the control circuit functions and is compatible with a wide variety of displays. <P>SOLUTION: The laryngoscope may optionally be used in a video mode where the user views a display which presents image data of an area ahead of a blade, or the user may use the laryngoscope in a conventional direct viewing method in which the user directly views the area ahead of the blade during intubation procedure.
