RECORDING METHOD OF DATA ON TAPE-SHAPED DATA CARRIER AND MAGNETIC TAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method by which high density of effective data on a magnetic tape can be provided without spoiling quality of tracking. SOLUTION: A plurality of data tracks are simultaneously recorded on a data carrier by using a writing head and the data tracks are split into successive data sections which are each divided into an initial region and an available region. At least one data track is used as a primary control track for tracking control of the writing head or a head unit, at least one second control track is recorded in the initial region in each data section and the control track does not extend over the entire available region of the data section.
