PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transpiration method that stabilizes the transpired amount of a heat-transpiring insect pest control components, even at a second half of the duration of service of heat-transpiring material for the controlling of insect pests. SOLUTION: In the transpiration method in which the heat-transpiring material 1 for controlling insect pests, comprising a plate-like carrier 2 and a bag body 3 enclosing the carrier 2, heat is applied from one side of the carrier 2 so that the heat-transpiring insect pest control component, contained in the carrier 2, is transpired through an opening part 41 formed on the bag body 3 from the other side of the carrier 2, the carrier 2 is maintained in a state in which the carrier is pressed from the other side by a pressing tool 8.
