The invention relates to a device for rescuing people in emergency situations. The inventive device comprises a knapsack which is provided with means for fixing it to the back of a rescued person, a part of which is designed in the form of a cradle and which contains an inflatable frame arranged therein and consisting of an inflatable toroidal chamber connected to inflatable spokes connected to the top toroidal chamber of a cylindrical inflatable chamber, which is formed by toroidal inflatable chambers, the diameter of which is less than the diameter of the first above-mentioned inflatable chamber, for forming a conical brake screen. The device also comprises a cylindrical chamber which is inflatable to the atmospheric pressure and is provided with holes for releasing an excessive pressure during landing. The cradle is fixed to the top toroidal inflatable chamber of a small diameter by means of strips. A gas source for the toroidal inflatable chambers is designed in the form of gas generators which are simultaneously actuatable by hand and are placed in the cavities of each insulated volume of the inflatable chambers and spokes.
