摘要 A GPS based Zigbee module and an operating method thereof are provided to check existence of asset objects or to trace positions in real time even in an outdoor position where a Zigbee network is installed. A GPS based Zigbee module includes an acceleration sensor(41), a Zigbee chip(42), a GPS unit(43), a battery(44) and a DC-DC converter(45). The acceleration sensor is a kind of a piezoelectric type sensor, generates a movement sensing interrupt and transmits the movement sensing interrupt to the Zigbee chip when an object to which a GPS based Zigbee module is attached moves. The GPS unit provides the current GPS information to the Zigbee chip wherein the GPS information is resulted from analysis of latitude and longitude information received from at least three satellites. The battery outputs regulated charged voltage. The DC-DC converter performs DC-DC amplification for the voltage outputted by the battery and supplies the amplified voltage for the acceleration sensor, the Zigbee chip and the GPS unit. The Zigbee chip receives the current GPS information cyclically via the GPS unit and transmits the received GPS information to an upper levelled Zigbee coordinator when receiving the movement sensing interrupt from the acceleration sensor.
