A loading hook has an outwardly opening detent 1 to lock its mouth opening, having a spring-controlled rocking lever 8 mounted on it with one arm, when the detent is locked, bearing from within against the nose 5 of the hook, the other arm having a lateral extension at 9 gripped between the detent 1 and the neck 2 of the hook when the detent 1 is pressed inward and bearing firmly upon the detent 1 when pressed outward, to lock it, as the rocking lever 8 will not turn. The extension at 9 extends laterally beyond the breadth of the detent 1 to provide a handle whereby the lever 8 can be turned to unlock the hook.</p> |
