The central bolt (13) exceeding from the front of the coupling arm (3) is supported against lateral and vertical forces by a carrier (2). An elastic element (6) is positioned between a pressure plate (4) located at the coupling arm (3) and a contact plate (5) at the carrier (2). The elastic element (6) is of a circular shape and thicker in the center (6i) in order to facilitate the adjusting motion between the parts when the carriage is pulled along curved or slightly irregular rails. An independent claim is given for the use of at least one of the units for joining two carriages of a train.
