833,833. Hopper discharge. HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK-A.G., F. Jan. 28, 1958 [Jan. 29, 1957], No. 2822/58. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XVIII] Fluent material is transferred from a hopper 3 to the weigh pan 40 of an automatic feed weigher through a pair of tubes 1, 2 feeding rotary impellers 10 which have resilient blades 12 engaging the walls of housing 9. Flaps 25 provided with apertures 26 are moved by solenoids 33 to partly close the discharge orifices 22, and thereby effect a dribble feed, when contacts 38 are opened near the completion of weighing the charge. Final cut-off is effected when contacts 39 open, thereby deenergizing a motor 17 which drives the impellers 10 and rotary scraper knives 4. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) knives 4 are replaced by wire helixes which press against the walls of tubes 1, 2. Wing nuts 35 facilitate rapid removal of the tubes and impeller housings. |
