A flat type fluorescent lamp is provided to facilitate an ejection of pollutants during a ventilating process by forming a bulb structure by inter-connecting plural discharge channels with each other. A flat type fluorescent lamp includes a lamp body(1), a discharge channel(5), and a pair of electrode units(7). The lamp body includes a front plate, rear plate, and a side sealing member. The discharge channel is divided into plural sections by a barrier rib, which is installed inside the lamp body. The electrode units are arranged in the discharge channel. The electrode unit includes an inner electrode, which is arranged inside a glass tube, and an external electrode, which is arranged outside the glass tube. A channel path interconnects the discharge channels with each other. The channel path is a crevice, which is formed on the barrier rib in a straight or curved shape.
