PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump mounting structure preventing resonance of engine noise by a clearance and enabling compact design of an engine total width by making the clearance for working space in mounting the fuel injection pump between the fuel injection pump and a gear case unnecessary. SOLUTION: In a structure having fixing holes 2c, 2c, 2c of the fuel injection pump 8 formed on the gear case 2g formed on a cylinder block 2 and providing the fuel injection pump 8 on one side of the cylinder block 2, a flange part 8a is formed on a side surface in the gear case 2g side of the fuel injection pump 8, screw parts 8c, 8c, 8c are formed on the flange part 8a, fixing bolts 34, 34, 34 are inserted in the fixing holes 2c, 2c, 2c from an inside of the gear case 2g, and the fuel injection pump 8 is built on the gear case 2g by screwing the fixing bolts 34, 34, 34 to the screw parts 8c, 8c, 8c.
