PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting a drive signal, which is suitable for decreasing an irregular disposition of a liquid material. SOLUTION: A liquid material discharge head having a plurality of nozzles supplies the drive signal of a tentative condition, acquires the discharge amount of each nozzle, calculates the mean value and medium of the acquired discharge amounts of all of the plurality of nozzles, and sets the drive signal of the suitable condition common to the plurality of nozzles on the basis of a relationship among the calculated mean value, the calculated medium and a prescribed reference value (a design value to be set according to specifications).
