METHOD FOR ENHANCING DAMPING CHARACTERISTIC OF Fe-Mn ALLOY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enhancing the damping characteristic of Fe-Mn alloy without changing the material composition. SOLUTION: Theεmartensitic phase governing the damping characteristic is grain-refined by repeating the working and the heat treatment of a material, and the number density of the martensitic phase (the number per unit volume) is increased.
