PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of performing a large tilt operation while suppressing the deterioration of a commodity property. SOLUTION: A universal joint 14 for connecting a second steering shaft 122 with a third steering shaft 123 receives a biasing force so as to set to a prescribed rotating position in a direction around a shaft by a plate spring 15 mounted in the third steering shaft 123. The prescribed rotating position is set to the rotating position where the second steering shaft 122 can rock (a tilt operation) at an angle wider than a prescribed angle with respect to the third steering shaft 123, which allows a large tilt operation. Even when the universal joint 14 receives the biasing force of the plate spring 15 to be rotated, at this time, a steering wheel 11 is prevented from being rotated by bringing the first electromagnetic clutch 13 in a disengagement.
