<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new double-stranded RNA having high nuclease resistance and developing excellent RNA interference effect. <P>SOLUTION: The modified double-stranded RNA suppressing the expression of a target gene has the following properties (i) to (iii). (i) The sense chain RNA is composed of 21-27 nucleotides and the antisense chain RNA is composed of 23-29 nucleotides; (ii) the 3'-terminal of the sense chain RNA is a blunt end and the 3'-terminal of the antisense chain has a dangling end; and (iii) a substituent is bonded exclusively to at least one of first to sixth nucleotides from the 5'-terminal of the sense chain RNA. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
