PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling device properly preventing overheat of an engine, by performing a control in view of a distance between two vehicles. SOLUTION: The engine cooling device is suitably used for cooling the engine, by circulating cooling water. Concretely, the engine cooling device acquires a distance between one's own vehicle and the vehicle ahead, and performs a control increasing a radiation amount of a radiator when the distance between the two vehicles is not more than a predetermined distance. In this case, the engine cooling device performs at least any one of a control with respect to an electric water pump, a control operating an electric fan, a control adjusting the distance between two vehicles, and a control providing information to a driver. Therefore, the overheat of the engine caused by decrease in travelling air to be supplied to the radiator, is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
