1,174,142. Defrosting. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON HOUSTON-HOTCHKISS BRANDT. 25 July, 1967 [26 July, 1966], No. 34096/67. Heading F4H. A device for indicating the necessity for defrosting or for initiating defrosting comprises a lever which is pivoted at 20 and carries a pin 19 bearing against the spring arm of an electrical contact 18, and a push member 7 which when the refrigerator door is closed rotates the lever into a position in which contact 18 abuts a further contact 17 and when the door is open permits the spring arm to rotate the lever into a position in which contacts 17, 18 are open unless movement of the lever is interrupted by a frost layer of predetermined thickness on the evaporator 1. If contacts 17, 18 remain closed while the door is open they energize a warning light or bell closure of the contacts while the door is closed being ineffective since the door operated switch controlling the interior light is connected in series with the contacts.
|
