<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving system capable of detecting an illegally-used sub-contract viewing terminal device on the assumption that a program can be viewed by the sub-contract viewing terminal device even in the case that a master contract viewing terminal device is not powered on. <P>SOLUTION: In the case that equipment authentication via a communication line (20) is established with a master contract viewing terminal device (200), a sub-contract viewing terminal device (300) permits viewing.
