PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a client server system, capable of easily fetching a data file within a server to a client without needing measures such as formation of server function on the client side, and storing the fetched data file in an appropriate position, and a data file transfer method therefor. SOLUTION: A data file requested from the client 20 is retrieved in a Web server 1, the retrieved data file is stored in the Web server 1 as a new data file having a unique file name, and a cookie file containing the unique file name is generated in the Web server 1 and transferred to the client 20 of the requester. The client 20 logs in the Web server 1 based on the received cookie file, and acquires a data file having the same file name as the file name contained in the cookie file.
