PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which the initial transition operation for transferring a liquid crystal layer from spray alignment to bend alignment can be performed at a high speed and display quality is excellent. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is provided with a pair of substrates 10, 20 holding a liquid crystal layer 50 in-between and performs display by transferring the alignment state of the liquid crystal layer 50 from the spray alignment to the bend alignment.
