PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation apparatus which can make it difficult for fat to be granulated into lumps, and inhibit clogging in piping, a storage tank, and a methane fermentation tank due to the fat lumps to inhibit a deterioration of fermentation. SOLUTION: The methane fermentation apparatus 100 comprises a slurry storage tank 1 which stores slurried organic waste, and a methane fermentation tank 3 which carries out methane fermentation of the slurried organic waste by anaerobic microorganisms, and equipped with an emulsifying and dispersing device 2 which emulsifies and disperses the slurried organic waste which will be supplied into the methane fermentation tank 3, and piping 5 which supplies the slurried organic waste in the slurry storage tank 1 to the emulsifying and dispersing device.
