A method of fusioning two or more seismic data sets in the spectral domain for the determination of subsurface formations and hydrocarbon accumulations in the field of geoscience is described. Two seismic traces of the same subsurface region are acquired and/or processed having different but partially overlapping bandwidths. The traces are combined and a weighted sum of the support from the overlap domain is subtracted such that the overlapping contribution is neither under nor overestimated in the combined traces. The result is then inverted to provide a reflectivity image of the subsurface region having a larger bandwidth than either of the initial traces. |
