An error diagnosis method of a CDC(Continuous Damping Control) sensor is provided to prevent an abnormal operation of the CDC sensor by detecting an error sign of the CDC sensor, before the CDC sensor malfunctions. Acceleration values and the acceleration of the center of mass are obtained by using three CDC acceleration sensors, and pitch and roller accelerations(S502). Pressures applied on respective tires are estimated by using horizontal and vertical acceleration signals from the sensors which are mounted on an ESC(Electronic Stability Control) system(S504). The relation between pitch and roller accelerations is obtained by using half vehicle models for pitch and roller motion(S506). The estimated pressures are added to the relation, such that approximate values for the pitch and roller accelerations are obtained(S508). The approximate values are applied on the acceleration of the center of mass, such that an estimate of the mass acceleration is individually obtained with respect to each acceleration sensors(S510). The estimates are compared with each other and an operation error is detected in the acceleration sensor which outputs the biggest estimate(S512). |
