A method for providing a dictionary assistance service on the Internet is provided to enable users, who want to receive the dictionary assistance service, to register a phone number freely to a website for providing the dictionary assistance service and prevent malicious use of the phone number by enabling the users to set a permitted search condition. A user wanting a dictionary assistance service requests information by registering a phone number to a website for providing the dictionary assistance service without registration. The user sets a password for allowing inquiry to people allowed by the user. All registered data is not registered to one website and a part of the registered data is registered to another website linked with the website. The registered data is provided to the user wanting the dictionary assistance service when the user clicks a linked address. The registered data is protected even though the registered data is leaked out by sharing the same encryption/decryption program and key with the users belonging to the same group.
