A method for reproducing data in an optical disk device is provided to play data in the optical disk stably by varying a boost value applied to an RF equalizing circuit according to the type and the radially inner and outer areas of the optical disk. A method for reproducing data in an optical disk device comprises the steps of: detecting a first optimal boost value in a radially inner area of the optical disk; storing the detected first boost value temporarily and searching a radially outer area of the optical disk(S12); detecting the second boost value and storing the second boost value temporarily in the outer area(S13,S14); and applying the temporarily stored first and second boost values to play the data in the optical disk(S19,S20).
