<p>The system prevents the formation of crystalline oxalate deposits and kills microorganisms which deteriorate the beer by generating an alternating electromagnetic field in the liquid flowing along the line (1) and forming sodium hypochlorite in the cleaning fluid (8) by electrolysis. A system for cleaning a beer line in e.g. a beer tap installation comprises a means for removing and/or preventing the formation of crystalline calcium oxalate deposits inside the line, and a means for killing microorganisms which can result in a deterioration of the beer, e.g. S. cerevisea, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Lactobacillus brevis and Lactobacillus buchneri. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a beer line, comprising the following steps: (A) installing a coil (2) around the line; (B) connecting a first electronic circuit (3) to the coil in order to create an alternating electromagnetic field in the liquid (e.g. beer or cleaning fluid) flowing along the line; (C) connecting an electrolysis cell (3, 4) to the line and passing cleaning fluid through the cell, or placing an electrolysis cell inside a cleaning fluid storage vessel (7) and pumping the fluid into the line; and (D) connecting a second electronic circuit (6) to the cell in order to form sodium hypochlorite in the fluid.</p> |
