PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve structure for a shock absorber capable of improving ride comfort on a vehicle even if the expansion speed of the shock absorber reaches a high-speed region. SOLUTION: The valve structure for the shock absorber comprises a valve disc 1 having a port 2, a valve element 10 for opening and closing the outlet of the port 2, and a flow path 17 formed on the upstream side of the port 2. The flow path area of the flow path 17 formed on the upstream side of the port 2 is reduced when the expansion speed of the shock absorber is a predetermined speed or higher. Thereby, a damping coefficient is increased when the expansion speed of the shock absorber is in a high-speed region, to improve ride comfort on the vehicle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
