<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device that can be charged from an external power supply under proper work efficiency, while securing work safety. <P>SOLUTION: Service plugs SP1, SP2 are arranged between a battery module 2 and a vehicle load 10. A system main relay SMR2 is arranged at the power supply side with respect to the service plug SP1, and a system main relay SMR3 is arranged at the load side with respect to the service plug SP2. An external charger 30 is attached to the battery modules 2, 4 such that first, the system main relays SMR2, SMR3 are brought into a non-conducting states, and the service plugs SP2, SP3 are attached and detached, by pulling plug members 40 out of relay circuits 43, 47; and next, plug members 50 are inserted into the relay circuits 43, 47.
