<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll collection system, capable of performing charging processing even in a case that information necessary for charging cannot be obtained from an on-vehicle device at an entrance gate or an exit gate. <P>SOLUTION: The toll collection devices 20 and 30 comprise unique information acquisition means acquiring unique information including a license number and payment method information from an on-vehicle device 18 mounted on a vehicle 1 which is passing through a toll road gate, and an image-derived vehicle number acquisition means photographing the vehicle which is passing through the gate to acquire image data, and acquiring an image-derived vehicle number extracted from the image data. When the unique information acquisition means fails to acquire the unique information, a payment method information acquisition means retrieves a vehicle database preliminarily registering license numbers in conformation of payment information information, using the image-derived vehicle number as a key, and acquires payment information corresponding to the image-derived vehicle number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
