PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 2-acylaminothiazole-4-carboxamides exhibiting excellent insecticidal effects as an insecticide. SOLUTION: The 2-acylaminothiazole-4-carboxamides are represented by the formula (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a phenyl which may be substituted or a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic group which contains at least one hetero atom selected from the group consisting of N, O and S and may be substituted; R<SP>2</SP>is a halogen, a 1-6C alkyl or a 1-6C haloalkyl; R<SP>3</SP>is a 1-6C haloalkyl, a 1-6C haloalkoxy, a 1-6C haloalkylthio, a 1-6C haloalkylsulfinyl or a 1-6C haloalkylsulfonyl; R<SP>4</SP>is a halogen, a 1-6C alkyl or a 1-6C haloalkyl; X is hydrogen, a halogen, a 1-6C alkyl or a 1-6C haloalkyl) of the figure, and utilized as the insecticide.
