<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power controller for a hybrid automobile for detecting any abnormality due to the short-circuit failure of a power supply path, and for preventing such secondary failures as smoking, burning and insulation breakdown. <P>SOLUTION: A protecting operation control part 32 switches a gate signal interruption switch 35 to a gate signal interruption side for protecting power elements UH to WL, and invalidates a switching signal from a hybrid control unit 4 to achieve the non-conductive operations of transistors 18a to 18f. A motor current signal from a motor current detector 17 is converted into a current value by a motor current calculating means 22, and input through a motor control arithmetic part 21 to a short-circuit abnormality detecting means 29, so that short-circuit abnormality can be detected. When the short-circuit abnormality is detected, an internal combustion engine operation instructing means 27 issues an instruction to an internal combustion engine control unit 6 to limit the output of an internal combustion engine 5, and releases the conductive status of the abnormal motor currents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
