PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discriminate an event of start from a station of a means of transportation entrained by a user or its arrival at the station by providing an acceleration sensor on a portable terminal device, and to perform proper guide before arrival at the station or after start therefrom. SOLUTION: The portable terminal device 20 having an acceleration detection means 219 equipped with the acceleration sensor includes a communication zone discrimination means 220 for storing a history of the communication state with a base station, and an arrival/start discrimination means 221 for discriminating arrival at the station or start from the station based on detection results by the acceleration detection means and discrimination results by the communication zone discrimination means 220. When an acceleration in a prescribed acceleration range set beforehand continues for a prescribed period, the acceleration detection means 219 detects it as an acceleration change caused by movement of the means of transportation. When the acceleration change is detected the arrival/start discrimination means 221 discriminates arrival at the station or start from the station by whether a communication state history before the prescribed period is within a communication zone or out of the communication zone on reference to the communication state history stored in the communication zone discrimination means 220.
