<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which does not have variations in the axial direction of a discharge lamp and does not generate a volatile substance such as siloxane even if exposed to high temperatures when the light source device is incorporated in a liquid crystal display device and a projection type projector device. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device comprises a short arc discharge lamp into which at least mercury and halide are filled, a reflector to reflect the light emitted from the discharge lamp, a glass plate which is arranged so as to cover the front opening part of the reflector, and a metal plate which is installed in a recess of the front opening part with at least one or more recesses formed at the front opening part of the reflector, and the discharge lamp is installed at the central bottom part of the reflector and is lighted. The metal plate has a clipping part and the clipping part clips the glass plate, and thereby the glass plate is fixed to the metal plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
