PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which comprises a shutter and an optical adapter and allows the shutter and the optical adapter to be easily mounted thereon. SOLUTION: The optical connector includes a housing for storing and holding an optical fiber and a shutter 10 for shielding light from the optical fiber. The shutter 10 includes a light shielding part 1 which is formed of one plate and shields light from the optical fiber, and locking parts 5 for holding the shutter on the housing. The locking parts 5 are locked to the housing by being inserted to the housing in a direction of fitting to/separating from an optical connector on the other party side, and a pair of locking parts are formed integrally with the shutter 10 on both sides in a width direction of the light shielding part, which is orthogonal to the direction of fitting to/separating from the optical connector on the other party side, and on the outside of the light shielding part.
