PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide a user with an exercise in an exercise assisting apparatus providing the user with the exercise by rocking a seat part with the user sitting thereon and fluctuatingly applying the body weight to the leg parts of the user. SOLUTION: When the user excessively applies his/her weight to the seat part, the user cannot get a desired exercise effect, so that this apparatus has a limit switch 26 detecting whether a prescribed load (weight) is applied to leg bases 8L and 8R or not, that is to say, whether or not the exercise is succeeded by properly treading, a control circuit 51 controlling a driving device 5 rocking the seat part finds the number of succeeding times and a success rate relative to the total number of rocking times based on the detection result of the limit switch 26, displays them on a display panel 11 and controls the rotating speed of a motor 148 via a motor control circuit 52.
