<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time to be required for encoding a dynamic image by shortening a waiting time due to the transfer of image data in motion retrieval. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector detecting device successively retrieves an image, which includes a plurality of pixel blocks composed of a prescribed number of pixels, by each retrieval area constituted of n×n pixel blocks, and detects the motion of the images. The device includes: a transfer element and memory controller 4 for reading the image data of the image to be retrieved; and a local memory 5 including an image buffer to be retrieved which stores the image data read by an image data reading means as the data of the pixel blocks whose number is not less than n×n. The transfer element and memory controller 4 reads the pixel included in the retrieval area of the retrieval to be performed after a subsequent time, and stores the pixel in an image data storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
