<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device eliminating the need of strictly controlling the flatness of a pressing part 5 or a flange 6 of a metal ring 2 to stabilize radial contact positions of them with respect to a mating member 11, and stabilizing the circumferential pressing distribution of them with respect to the mating member 11. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device has the metal ring 2, and a seal part such as packing. The metal ring 2 has an annular pressing part 5 having a predetermined radial width pressing the mating member 11 in the axial displacement of the metal ring 2. The pressing surface 7 of the pressing part 5 has a cross-sectional surface in a shape of a wave, or an arc projected toward the mating member 11. The pressing part 5 is constituted of the outward flange 6 molded integrally with the tip of a tubular part 4 of the metal ring 2. The thickness of the flange 6 is thinner than that of the tubular part 4, and the flange has a cross-sectional surface in a shape of an arc or wave with springiness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
