<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract an optical clock signal from a high-speed input light signal that does not cause dependence on the plane of polarization of an input light signal and exceeds the upper-limit operation speed of an electronic device stably, even to fluctuation in wavelengths and a change in environmental temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The input light signal 10 whose transmission rate is f(Gbit/s) is input to a frequency division clock signal extracting apparatus 12 for outputting a frequency division electric clock signal 14. The frequency division electric clock signal is input to a first mode synchronization semiconductor laser 16 for outputting a frequency division optical clock signal 18 having the same repetition frequency as a frequency f/N(GHz) of the frequency division electric clock signal. In this case, N is the number of channels. The frequency division optical clock signal is input to an OTDM circuit 20 for multiplexing, thus outputting a multiple optical clock signal 22 having a repetition frequency f(GHz) coinciding with the transmission rate of the input light signal. The multiple optical clock signal is input to a second mode synchronization semiconductor laser 24 for outputting a reproduction optical clock signal 26 having a bit rate coinciding with the repetition frequency f(GHz) of the multiple optical clock signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
