METHOD FOR PRODUCING SOLID FUEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a solid fuel by which the solid fuel surely having properties required for the solid fuel can be obtained by using an organic sludge as a raw material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the solid fuel by using electric power and fuel and by using the carbonized product obtained by the method as the fuel when operating an installation comprising a drier of the organic sludge and a carbonizing furnace for carbonizing the dried product involves selecting a carbonizing time and a carbonizing temperature by utilizing the first correlation among a water content of the organic sludge to be subjected to the drying, an ignition loss and a ratio H/C of the numbers of atoms of the hydrogen to the carbon in the solid fuel at which the discharge of CO2accompanied by the use of the electric power and the fuel is balanced with the reduced amount of the CO2by the use of the solid fuel, and the second correlation among the carbonization time required for the carbonization, the carbonization temperature and the ratio H/C of the numbers of the atoms of the hydrogen and the carbon, and carrying out the carbonization under the selected condition.
