PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data importance calculation system for calculating importance reflecting data user's feeling with respect to the importance of data.

SOLUTION: An importance calculating unit 1 calculates the importance of a document using view logs stored in a document view log database 6 and print logs stored in a print-log database 3 about each document stored in a document database 7. An importance storage unit 15 updates the importance of the document stored in a document importance database 4 based on the importance calculated by the importance calculating unit 1.
