PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device having a wear alarming structure which can generate driver-recognizable wear alarming sounds when a lining wears in a predetermined amount or more. SOLUTION: A brake drum 12 has a protruded portion 36 formed on the same plane as the thrust face of the lining 20, and a rocking member 30 is supported on part of a brake shoe 16 for rocking in contact with the protruded portion 36 when the lining 20 wears in a predetermined amount or more. A back plate 14 has an alarm sound generation part 32 with which the rocking member being rocking has contact to generate alarm sounds. When the lining 20 wears by a predetermined amount A or more, the rocking member 30 rocks in contact with the protruded portion 36 during braking and it makes contact with the alarm sound generation part 32 of the back plate 14 to generate alarm sounds. The alarm sounds are cyclically generated depending on the rotation of the brake drum 12 when the lining 20 wears in the predetermined amount A or more, and they are transmitted via the back plate 14 to the outside of the brake drum 12.
