<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which a fuel cartridge can be exchanged while maintaining a power generating state in a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system 100 provided with the fuel cell 20 is provided with; a fuel cartridge 30 provided to be attachable to the fuel cell system 100 and storing fuel supplied to the fuel cell 20, a fuel subsidiary tank 80 storing the fuel fed out from the fuel cartridge 30, and a buffer tank 90 storing the fuel which is fed out from the fuel subsidiary tank 80 and diluted to a specified concentration.
