PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a classification result with higher accuracy on musical piece classification by impression word. SOLUTION: The musical piece classification apparatus is provided with; a bibliography information storage means 33 which stores bibliography information of at least one or more musical pieces, a bibliography information acquisition means 21 which acquires bibliography information of one musical piece from the bibliography information storing means 33, a bibliography information conversion means 22 which generates a bibliography information impression word based on the bibliography information, a feature quantity calculation means 23 which calculates an acoustic feature quantity acquiring acoustic signal of one musical piece, a feature quantity conversion means 24 which generates a feature quantity impression word based on the acoustic feature quantity, and an impression word unification means 25 which determines goodness of fits of the bibliography information impression word and the feature quantity impression word referring prescribed goodness of fit table decided beforehand, and selects both of the bibliography information word and the feature quantity impression word as the impression words when the goodness of fit is larger value than goodness of fit threshold, and selects bibliography information impression word or the feature quantity impression word as the impression word when the goodness of fit is smaller value than goodness of fit threshold.
