PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-action press device which can be used jointly as a single-action press device and its press method. SOLUTION: This device is a double-action press device A which is provided with a projected die 1 and a recessed die 2 between which a blank material W is held and which are approachable and separable, an inner slider 3 which is situated on the opposite side of the projected die 1 to the recessed die 2 and by which the recessed die 2 is pressed along the pressurizing direction in which the blank material W is pressed by approach of the projected die 1 and the recessed die 2 and an outer slider 4 which is installed in parallel to the inner slider 3 and moved back and forth along the pressurizing direction and, furthermore, a connecting bolt 7 for connecting the concave die 2 movably back and forth along the pressurizing direction to the outer slider 4. The press device is constituted so that the recessed die 2 can be moreover pressed with the inner slider 3 to working completing position where the working of the blank material W is completed after pressing the recessed die 2 until the recessed die 2 is brought into contact with the blank material W with the outer slider 4.
